Who are we?

polyXengineering, Inc. is a Mechanical Engineering consulting firm on the Central Coast of California.  It was founded in 2016 by the two principals, Dr. Patrick Lemieux and Dr. Frank Owen.  The name "poly-X-engineering" encapsulates the idea behind the firm.  "poly" implies that the firm is broad-based and can provide "X" (expert) advice in many technical areas within Mechanical Engineering.  

Patrick Lemieux, PhD, PE

Dr. Lemieux specializes in the energy side of Mechanical Engineering.  This includes fluid dynamics, heat transfer, energy production, combustion engines, gas turbines, wind turbines, and more. 

Frank Owen, PhD, PE

Dr. Owen specializes in the mechanical side of Mechanical Engineering.  This includes mechanism analysis, dynamics, system dynamics, controls, automation, design, and more.

Blender is an open-source, solid-modelling program.  It's strength is animation and visualization of dynamic events.  Not often used for engineering applications, Blender is being pioneered by polyXengineering for animation/visualization of dynamic events.

polyXengineering is active in the field of animating historical machines and mechanisms.
